Was ist Rit (englisch) zum Färben?

Hallo zusammen,

über die regelmäßigen Postings von Knitting Daily habe ich in diesem Eintrag etwas über das Färbemittel "Rit" gelesen - s. hier

Ich habe weder Übersetzung noch Produkte über die üblichen Suchmaschinen gefunden. Im Artikel steht was von "I've never heard of anyone using Rit to dye eggs. On the other hand, Rit is non-toxic. And while I'm not suggesting you use it on foodstuffs, Rit is a safe, all-purpose, and easy alternative for craft dyeing"

Und im Bild sind neben Knöpfen auch wollige Sachen dabei. Hat einer eine Ahnung, was das nun ist? Lebensmittelfarbe?

Scheint in den USA sowas wie Simplicol bei uns zu sein: die Standardtextilfarbe, die man in jedem Supermarkt bekommt und die für Proteinfasern und Pflanzenfasern gleichermaßen geeignet ist.

Oh, danke, Sephrenia, auf Amazon.com zu schauen war mir echt nicht eingefallen.

Bei dem flüssigen Rit stand in der Beschreibung drin, dass man selbst Golfbälle färben könne - daher auch die gefärbten Knöpfe bei dem Artikel von Knitting Daily.
Kann man das auch mit Simplicol?
